Your Passion Determines Your Future

Your Passion Determines Your Future

Tasha Robinson tells her powerful story of how she went from being reserved to a resourceful entrepreneur.

An Unsure Life
Unbelievably, compared to who I am today, I was very quiet and insecure in my youth. Seeking validation from others was the norm. I craved recognition as I was unsure of my worth. It took 35 years to realize that my father's absence impacted my choices in life involving my career and relationships.

In my career, I didn't care to be the boss, but I wanted to support them and see them succeed. Being in the light was not my aspiration. That would force me to make independent decisions.

In relationships, I unconsciously chose friends and partners I could develop or support so that I could feel valued or appreciated for pouring into their lives. Consequently, that factored in my fear of abandonment. I later learned that I poured out until I was empty. I was an empty vessel that was in a dangerous state of mind.

My passion was and still is to help people. There is no denying that I could never run from wanting to see others recognize and grow their potential. Using the gift of sound judgment and wisdom became a priority. I became selective about who I gave personal access to me. From makeup artistry to human resources, every role I performed for work had to align with helping others which were my purpose. The beauty industry instills confidence and reinforces natural beauty and human resources, employing people and helping them identify their strengths and develop talent.

My Values
Overall, my values have not changed but how I "give and receive" has. When people offer support, even if I can handle it, I accept the offering as this is how I refill my vessel. When I give, I give purposefully, no longer seeking validation from the world but having peace with the understanding that I am exercising my purpose.

The result of the Process
Today, I am a woman that stands tall, leading a team of executives with 100+ employees for a national brand. I have also run a beauty business with loyal clientele over the past 15 years. I have trained over 1,000 consultants in the beauty industry to become entrepreneurs and am a proud mother of 3 children who has adopted an entrepreneurial mindset.

What am I still learning, you ask? I am learning to level up. There are more people to touch and more moments to create. We will win in life, so let's get to LIVING!
